Youth Grass Track races this Friday.

The Fenland Clarion Cycling Club are holding an evening of youth grasstrack races this Friday, 14th August. This will be at the Embankment Athletic track on Bishops Road Peterborough PE1 5BW. Riders can register on the day from 6.00pm, ready for racing to start at 6.30 and finishing around 8.00. The cost of the evening will be just £4 for each rider.
This will be suitable for all junior riders under 16 as Go ride racing. They will get at least two races each and are very suitable for novice riders, and will be held in age groups. If they have never tried a race before then this would make an ideal start. The races will be held on a grass oval, so please bring a bike suitable for this, or if you don't have your own please contact in advance to arrange a loan cycle, helmets must be worn and these can also be borrowed if needed and there is no extra charge.

The excellent venue has full changing facilities and refreshments will also be available for those who would rather watch.

"The Fenland Clarion Cycling Club will once again be organising some youth cyclocross race nights similar to last years, with the next one THIS Friday 25th September. These will suit youth riders of all abilities, and they will follow the British Cycling Go Ride Racing making it ideal entry level racing, and suitable for getting started with competitive events.

The races will be cyclocross which means on the grass, and every rider will get two races, and the details are on the British Cycling website.

Registration will be from 6.00pm, with racing due to start at 6.30. Each event will be in age groups, so even the youngest will be able to take part, and the oldest riders will be under 16 age group (racing seperately to the younger ones)
The plan is to be finished by around 8.00.

The evenings will cost £4 each with prizes for the series. Hopefully your youngsters will all want to try these events, and if you are aware of any others who maybe interested please help us by passing the details on.

The three event series will be on

Friday 25th September
Friday 30th October
and
Friday 27th November

Also a standalone girls only, yes girls only racenight on Friday 13th November

They will be at our usual venue The Embankment Athletic Track, Bishops Road, PE1 5BW, with free parking in the adjacent Regional pool car park and refreshments and full changing will be available.

"A reminder that the Fenland Clarion will have an evening of grasstrack racing for youths on this Friday 8 July at the Embankment Athletic Track in Peterborough PE1 5BW, with signing from 6.00 and racing from 6.30. Please note if you would like some fixed wheel events could you get in touch beforehand, otherwise it will be freewheel only, and we will have a few prizes afterwards. The club has a limited number of bikes, including some fixed wheel, that are available on a first come basis, however these will need to be reserved in advance.The weather looks like being great, so hope to see lots of you there.
