Wattbike session at Marholm VH Sunday 18th March.

Sat, 17th Mar 2012 - 1:44 p.m.

Rather short notice, but the Fenland Clarion Cycling Club are holding a Wattbike Training Session at Marholm Village Hall on Sunday 18th March. (After the Ride and Tie, and Mothers Day!).

An email from the Fenland's Malc Jacklin explains:

"Fenland Clarion have arranged to borrow 3 of the British Cycling Wattbikes in order to hold an evening of indoor cycle racing. They will be linked via a laptop to watch the races on a screen similar to the set up at the tour series.

This should be a social evening of entertainment, fun, maybe a bit competitive and achievable for just about all to have a go at. These bikes will suit most riders with an adjustable seat height of 59 - 84 cm

This will take place on Sunday March 18th in
Marholm Village Hall, Castor Road PE6 7JA from 7.00 P.M.
With races starting around 7.15

The events will be confirmed on the night but each competitor should get 3 races starting with a 500 metre time trial, and will include handicaps to give everyone a chance. The longest event will be a maximum of one mile.

There will be tea & biscuits provided and of course all you keen bakers would be very welcome to bring one of your lovely cakes along.

In order that we can plan the evening it would be most helpful if you could reply if you are likely to attend, including whether or not you would like to have a go at the racing
The cost for this evening will be £3 entry (£1 under 18's) with another £3 (£1 under 18's) to have a go on the bikes with a few small prizes on offer.

There is information about the bikes on the website if you would like to know more
