Arthur

I must say I am really disappointed in PACTRAC's handling of the Friday swim situation; the one where we turned up one Friday to find Arthur was no longer taking the technique session but no reason was given.

Since then I have posted on this forum, to no avail; emailed, phoned and texted the chairman, to no avail and gathered a whole list of names of people who want Arthur back, to no avail. Not only to no avail but not once have I been responded to proactively, I have always had to chase and there has always been an excuse or fob off. Quite apart from no longer having Arthur, who did so much good for so many people's swim technique, the communication about this has been appalling and unprofessional.

I suppose it would be a dream for the club to perhaps thank Arthur in some way for his contribution over the years since it now seems certain that he is not welcome back.

Hi Sally

I believe Mike will respond in due course on the outcome
of our meeting reference Arthur's Friday night sessions. As I haven't seen you on
recent Friday nights sessions you will see the improvement on the swim ability of members
in relation to how the changes implemented have taken effect.
In my response to you on he 10th Jan I made reference to the
support Arthur has had since he has been coaching. I am sure if
there was an opportunity for Arthur to coach in the future and he would like
to do it he would be very welcome.

I am not really sure from a coaching point of you what response you are looking
for but all changes and future changes to session plans are posted well in advance
on the website aka Tri Swim training.

But please take it from me the current coaching set up is agreed
from me and the development is following the course I want it.
On my reply in Jan I asked you to contact me reference coaching. Please understand
it is my role and responsibility to make decisions in this matter-so once again
please contact me if you have any issues and I WILL respond to you.

Thanks

Dave

From a coaching point of view, the response I am looking for is that we are getting Arthur back. As I am not there on Friday nights I won't in fact see the improvement but I take that to imply that swimmers have improved more than they did with Arthur? I would be interested in the monitoring of this as not once was I asked how I was progressing by anyone other than Arthur, so I wonder what data you are comparing with.

So the set up is agreed by *you* and following the course *you* want it follow. I think that says it all.

But still, it is good to see in black and white that Arthur is welcome back to coach. It's just a shame he is not aware of that.

Thank you. I will. However, I think it's useful to have these things out in the open and for people to understand what is going on and what the decision making process is.
