Newton's Fraction HM (Grantham) - 10 March 2013

The 8th Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 10th March 2013 10:30am at South Kesteven Sports Stadium, Grantham NG31 7XQ.

With a stadium start the ‘half’ heads out into the Lincolnshire countryside and within 2 miles joins the Grantham-Nottingham canal towpath for an almost 3 miles, then a couple of challenging climbs before finishing back in the stadium. South Kesteven Sports Stadium is easily accessed by road from the A1 /A607 junction.

Run under UK Athletic rules and a certified accurate course with IPICO chip timing.

We have excellent facilities including on-site parking and sports retailer, Lincolnshire Runner will have a stall.

For the less energetic we have The Little Apple Fun Run, a 3km race open to all ages. With over 120 runners taking part in 2012, some donning fancy dress, the event has a family friendly atmosphere providing excellent entertainment to those competing and to those less ambitious. So why not come along and have some fun!

I did this race two years ago. Really enjoyed it, especially the stadium start and finish. A hard course though: the bit in the middle along the towpath is nice, but there are a few serious hills, especially the one at 12 miles where I lost all hope of a PB.
