Wet suit chaffing

Sat, 20th Jul 2013 - 8:32 p.m.

Hi all,

Myself and my brother competed in the Long course weekend at Tenby last week finishing 13 and 16th out of 122 to complete the event.

During the swim we both ended up with very sore necks where the wetsuit had rubbed against our skin. This was our first sea swim of any note so the extra siting glances is probably the cause as it has not occured in lido or river swims where there isn't a current to contend with. My brother used a lube whereas I didn't but the results were the same on both of us.

Can anyone offer any advice or suggest any gear to overcome this?

Thanks,

Chris.

I know that people say Vaseline rots wetsuits but I have read recently that this is not true.
I suffered in Mallorca with waterbased lube so will try Vaseline next time.
