Some of you will have come across the Wadenhoe winter Quadrathlons and Run,Bike,Runs. These were started by PACTRAC's Eric Hatliff "way back when".
4 races have been held at Wadenhoe in the Winter Series for many year's.
However, due to dwindling demand in our recent harsh winters, the organisers decided to reduce the 4 races this winter to just 1.
Following the AGM, I emailed Quadrac Racing to see if they had a date yet.
Their reply:
"Am afraid that due to low competitor numbers we have decided that the races are not sustainable and therefore will not be running them this winter HOWEVER we are now running a similar 3-series off-road run/bike/run and kayak/bike/run at BOX END PARK Kempston, west of Bedford. See our website or Box End Park's for details. Not quite as technical as Wadenhoe, but still pretty demanding. Entry only £10 or £15 on the day. Race 1 is 3rd November, 2nd 15th December, 3rd 26th January.
Hope you can all make them instead! "
So there we are. No more Wadenhoe races. We will need to find an alternative race to award our annual Off-road run,bike,run Trophy.
3rd Nov: too soon and Bushfield Frostbite.
15th Dec possible.
26th Jan - usually our first Biathlon.
This will be discussed at the next Committee Meeting, so if anybody has any other ideas, let us know.
